Here is how you do it.
Twitter - Go to "Home" (little house picture inside your account) then click on "Edit Profile". Enter your user name and password for Twitter. Now you are able to pair any of your Public Boxes with Twitter. When you decide to pair one of your boxes with Twitter, click on "Sharing: _ People". Then make sure the "Make This Box Public" is checked. Check "Pair with Twitter". Now every time you add an item to this Public Box, an automatic "Tweet" will be generated in your Twitter account, and all of your followers will be able to click on the link in the "Tweet" and get to the latest Item you added to your Public Box. You can customize the text of the automatic "Tweet" by clicking on "Configure" as you are pairing the Box. You can also customize each individual tweet at the time you are boxing, by enabling the "Add Comments" option while boxing.

If you think the SimplyBox toolbar is taking too much space, you can actually replace it with one single button that will sit on your Firefox browser bar. It only works with Firefox, not with Internet Explorer. Here is how to make the change: http://simplybox.com/toolbar/notoolbar
a) You, as the teacher, can create a second account with SimplyBox in the name of the entire class. Then you would need to give the kids the user name and password you created for the account. By the way, the account then is only accessible by people that have the user name and password for the account. The students then will be able to see the content of the boxes in the account and add comments - from any computer. Now, if they need to add content to the account, they would need the SimplyBox toolbar (the one with the "Box It" button) downloaded on whatever computer they are using.
b) You can simply use Public Boxes (you create them under the Sharing menu option). Each Public Box has a URL. So, students can access the URL and see the content of the box and their comments to the different items. And the creator of the Public Box can delete the box at any time. Since this is a Public Box, students will not be able to add content to the Public Box, only comments.
c) Creating accounts for students that do not have an e-mail. Please go to this link.
If you see the SimplyBox toolbar in your web browser, and it shows the "Box It" button, and your user name or e-mail, this means you are all setup and ready to go. Now, just go browse the web as you normally would. Whenever you see something you want to keep, click on the "Box It" button. Draw a box around what you want, and then drag it down to the box you want to put it in your SimplyBox account. You have the option to add comments, or send an item as an email as well. If enabled, a dialog will pop up to present these options. (And if this box is paired with Twitter, the dialog will also allow you to edit your Tweet for the item also). If you want to turn off this dialog, just un-check the "Add Comment" box in the orange ribbon that shows at the top of your screen while boxing. Whenever you want to go back to your SimplyBox account to see all the stuff you have boxed, click on the SimplyBox logo on your toolbar.
An "Item" is a piece of content that you have captured into SimplyBox. When you interact with it in SimplyBox, it is visual - a graphic image that looks exactly like the source it came from. This lets you interact with it in a rich, natural way -- for example you can grab it and move it around, you can drag and drop it into other locations, and you can view a collection of Items in different ways. Behind the scenes, we also store "meta-data" about the web site your box came from, so you can always click on it and go back to the source site (like a bookmark, only better). And you can add your own meta-data, like adding comments to an Item.
When you are browsing the web and you see something you want to keep or share, just "Box It". Click on the "Box It" button on the SimplyBox toolbar. A grey-ish overlay will appear over your screen to let you know you are ready to box. Now, just draw a box around the piece of content you want and then let go of your mouse button. You have just "boxed" that content.
We have replaced two buttons: [“Box and Save”] and [“Box and Send”] with just one: [“Box It”]. After you drag your item in a Box, you now have the option to add comments and/or send an email of this Item right away. If enabled, a dialog will pop up to present these options. (And if this box is paired with Twitter, the dialog will also allow you to edit your Tweet for the item also). If you want to turn off this dialog, just un-check the “Add Comment” box in the orange ribbon that shows at the top of your screen while boxing.

The first thing you see when you get to your SimplyBox account is the "Home" page. Here you will find a lot of information about your account and some interesting messages from us. You can always come back to your "Home" page by clicking on the little house pictured next to the SimplyBox logo.
In your "Home" page you will find interesting information about your account under "Simply My Statistics". Here you will also find reports on: your alerts history, Box & Send history, the list of comments in all your boxes, and your address book (see "Sharing Stuff" item 5). You will also find the "Edit Profile" section where you can change your e-mail, password, user name, and language. It is also where you enable the connection with your Twitter and Del.icio.us accounts (see Setting Up Your Account, item 4).
SimplyBox makes it easy to organize your stuff in a way that makes sense for you. When you capture a lot of Items, you will be able to put them into different Boxes. You can simply drag-and-drop an item into the desired Box and from one Box to another. Within a Box, there are also different options available for viewing your boxes (see item 4), that you can decide the most natural way for you to interact with each set of content you have.
A Box is the place where you store the Items you captured. Boxes are interactive. You will see your Boxes displayed in the "Boxes Bar" across the bottom of your screen when you are logged in to SimplyBox.
To switch between Boxes, just click on the desired Box. The name of the current Box is always displayed at the top of the Screen, just on top of "Box Options".
You can define your own Boxes - as many as you like, so you can organize your stuff how you want it. To add more Boxes just click on the "+ New Box" next to your list of Boxes.
Tip: You can also add new Boxes at the time are boxing an item, by clicking "+ New Box", or just dragging the item into the "+ New Box" location.
You can choose between several different views for the stuff you have in a Box. Check out the "View" menu option. The best way to see what each option does is to try them out. It's fun!
"Grid" view will arrange all of the Items in your Box into a nice grid of rows and columns. This is often the best way to see the most Items on your screen at once.
"List" view will arrange your Items into a long vertically-scrolling list. This view is nice because it also tells you summary information about each Item (where it came from, when, and comments related to it).
"Free" view allows you to move your Items around via drag-and-drop completely free-form. We sometimes call this the "coffee table" view, because it allows you to arrange Boxes in a totally natural way, like piles of magazines on your coffee table. The Zoom In and Zoom Out is very useful.
We encourage you to play with the different view options. We will be adding more View options in the future, so if you have any cool ideas for these, let us know!
SimplyBox makes it easy to go back to where your stuff came from. In this sense, you can use SimplyBox as a kind of "visual bookmarking on steroids". To go back to the source, click on the Item whose page you want to go back to. It will zoom-in full size on that Item. Below the Item you'll see key information about it, including the website that it came from. Clicking on the "[visit source]" link will take you back to the exact URL (page) that your Item came from. If you are looking at your Box in "List" view, the [visit source] link is displayed to the right of each box and so you can click directly on it from there without zooming in on the specific Item first.
When you click on an Item from your Box, it will expand the view of the Item and the details associated with it. To return to normal view of your Box, click on the Close button in the top right corner.
Just drag it to the Trash Can in the bottom right corner.
You can group your Boxes together into what we call "Containers". A Container holds Boxes. You can use Boxes and Containers to define lots of different groups of content and navigate it in a way that makes sense for you. The Containers are listed below your Boxes Bar.
For example, you might define a Container you call "Work Stuff", and another called "Personal Stuff". Inside of each Container you can have lots of Boxes. So your "Work" Container might have Boxes like "Research", "Competition", "Ideas", etc. Your "Personal Stuff" Container might have Boxes like "Vacations", "Car Research", "Investments", etc.
To add more Containers just click on the "+ New Container" button next to your list of Containers.
To open a Container just click on it. When you are inside a Container, all of the Boxes that are inside of it will be displayed immediately above it.
You can do it visually, but you can also use our "SimplySearch" (located on the top right-hand corner). Type the word for what you are looking for and SimplyBox will display all of the items related to it.
Yes! Go to the Item Details view (click on the item), and then you will see an "Edit Image" button right under the image. This will take you to a 3rd party site called 'pixlr', which gives you Photoshop-like capabilities to edit the image. When you are done with your edits, click on the "File" menu in pixlr and choose "Save". Make sure the box "save to referrer" is checked. This will save your changes to SimplyBox, and bring you back to your item inside of SimplyBox.
You are surfing and you find something you want to send to a friend, click on "Box It" on the toolbar. Draw a box around what you want, then make sure the "Add Comment" box is checked on the orange ribbon at the top of your screen. Now when you drag the item into one of your boxes, a dialog will pop-up allowing you to enter comments and/or send an email with this item. Click the "Send Email" tab, then enter your friend's email address and a brief note. They will receive an email with your boxed Item and your note. They can reply to you directly by replying to the email.
This is one of the most popular things people do on SimplyBox. Now you can share any headline, paragraph, or photo from any web site with one click of the button. No more copying-and-pasting URL's into an email, and no more searching for each site's own "share this story" link and filling out their forms with your personal information. Just click "Box It"!
"Box and Send History" (under "My Tools and Reports" in the "Home" page) keeps a record of all of the items I have Boxed and Sent.
In addition to sending individual Items, you can also share an entire Box with a friend.
When you share a Box with other users, they will see it in their Box bar. They will be able to add items, arrange the content, and insert comments relating to the specific Items or the entire shared Box. This is a great way for multiple people to collaborate on a particular topic.
To Share a Box with users of SimplyBox or non-SimplyBox users click on the white rectangle area that says "Enter Your Friend's e-mail" (top center of the page). You will be prompted to enter the email address(es) for everyone you want to share this box with. You can also add a comment to the invitation by clicking on "Edit Invitation". And you do not need to know if your friend has a SimplyBox account or not.
If your friend has a SimplyBox account, he will receive an alert on his SimplyBox toolbar and an e-mail that tells him you shared a box with him. He will actually see the shared box on his Box Bar.
If your friend does not have a SimplyBox account, he will receive an e-mail with a link to the box. He will be able to add comments, but since he is not a SimplyBox user, he will not be able to add items.
A Public Box is a box that can be viewed by anyone. And anyone can comment on it. It is very easy to make a box "Public". Just click on the "Sharing: _ People" next to "Box Options". Check "Make this Box Public". A public URL will be automatically generated. Now you can copy that Public URL and share it with others. Anyone (even non-SimplyBox users) that goes to that URL will be able to see the box. And they will be able to add comments to it. And since "Public Boxes" have a tracker, you will know how many people have visited each one of your "Public Boxes".
A great way to tell people that you have a Public Box, or that you added a new Item, to your Public Box, is to pair your Public Box with your Twitter or Del.icio.us account.
Under "Box Conversation" you are able to write a description of your box. And the people you are sharing the box with can add their comments about the entire box. And that can start a conversation about the entire box.
You can add comments to any item in SimplyBox and you can reply to any specific comment made. When in "Grid" or "Free" view, just click on the item and it will zoom in on the item and display an area below the image reserved for comments. In "List" view you can actually start typing a comment, without having to zoom in on the item.
